Duplicating Inventory Records

In this week’s issue we will cover how to use the Duplicate feature in the Inventory Module. This feature enables you to ‘Duplicate’ a pre-existing inventory record. You can use this option when entering items such as Hose records, SCBAs, and other items that you have in large quantity. This feature is very similar to creating a template for incident reports.

Duplicating Inventory Records

  1. Open FirePrograms.

  2. Click on the Inventory Icon located on your FirePrograms desktop.

  3. Select Inventory Records from the Inventory Menu

  4. Expand the tree, and highlight the inventory record you would like to duplicate.

  5. Click on the Duplicate button located on the far left of the window.

  6. A new inventory record opens with most of the fields populated with information from the original record. Not all of the data will be carried over. Fields such as Unit/Part Id and Serial Number will need to be entered since at least one of these needs to be unique. The dates from the original record will not carry over, nor will the Maintenance information.

  7. Continue through the record, filling out the additional fields as you deem necessary.

  8. Once complete, Click Ok to save the record.
