The National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) is set to replace the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) in late 2025, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.
NERIS data standard changes will have several implications for the fire service, including new incident data gathering elements and access to USFA data at the national level in a cloud-based system.
What does this mean for your FirePrograms? We have begun releasing NERIS compliant incident reporting. NFIRS will remain operational until customers transition to NERIS in an easy 20 minute or less process.
Legacy NFIRS data will remain available.
